The final event of Oswego Kartway's regular season point race will take place Friday with the running of the HRW Construction 'Justin Lamb Memorial.'
Lamb, who lost his life Sunday in a motor vehicle accident, was an avid Oswego Speedway fan, crew member, and former competitor at Oswego Kartway driving the Team Growl Racing No. 11.
In memory of Lamb, the Kartway's Track Championship Night will be renamed in his honor.
A handful of Kartway divisions will come right down to the wire Friday night in their season-long battle for a track championship.
Dylan Trump has led the Jr. Silver Clone division all season long, but Carl Emmons III has been on a roll as of late and now rides only 21-points behind Trump for the track title. Trump's four feature wins to Emmons' three has been the difference so far this season as they head into Friday with one more main event on the line.
Dan Kapuscinski holds a 29-point edge on Ron Abbott in the Stock Heavy class going into Friday night. Kapuscinski has seven main event wins this season in the division, but missed one Heavy main in order to run with the Lights. As a result, Abbott is close enough to take advantage behind the wheel of the No. 48R.
The Animal division features a tight three-way battle between Cris Lane, Ron Billings and BJ Ingersoll. Lane currently has a six point lead over Billings with Ingersoll just eight markers back. All three drivers have main event wins this season with Billings leading the tally with three feature wins.
The most compelling point battle going into Friday night is in the Stock Light division as no fewer than four drivers have a mathematical chance at winning the championship.
Jake Sivers is the current leader with a 15-point margin over Tom Perrin. Perrin leads Sivers' teammate Robbie Bruce by just five points with Chris Natoli trailing Bruce by another five points.
The best chance for Sivers to be overtaken will be if one of his rivals were to visit main event victory lane. Should Natoli sweep the evening, winning the qualifying heat race and feature, Sivers will have to score more than 90 total points on the evening to retain the championship.
The HRW Construction 'Justin Lamb Memorial' will see pit gates open this Friday at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the first heat race taking the green at 7:30 p.m.
