Write a commentKaren A. Piazza, 76, of Oswego, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, after a lengthy illness. Her husband was by her side.
Born on March 7, 1946, and raised in Oswego, Karen was the daughter of the late Harold and Melrose (Gillen) Tonkin.
Karen was a graduate of Oswego High School. She was employed by Fay’s Drug’s, and retired from Byrne Dairy in 2008.
She loved devoting her time as a volunteer with the Oswego Hospital, and the Human Concerns Food Pantry. She made many friends over the years and was a devoted wife and mother. Karen loved gardening, knitting, and taking walks. She will be greatly missed.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Dominic Piazza; her daughter, Amy Piazza of Indiana; her son, Dominic Piazza of Florida; her sisters, Marsha Dorval, and Pamela (John) Sterio, and her brother, Peter Tonkin. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
As per her wishes, services are private.
Contributions in her memory can be made to the Human Concerns Food Pantry; or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements are in care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
