Obituaries

  Kenneth H. Smith, 94, a resident of Bishop Commons in Oswego, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at St. Luke Health Services.

     Mr. Smith was born in Oswego, the son of the late Harvey and Hazel (Elkin) Smith. He resided in Akron, NY until moving to Oswego in 2021 to be closer to family.

     He was a veteran of the US Navy and Air Force serving his country with the U.S. Navy from 1950-1952, the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1952 -1953 and in the U.S. Air Force serving as a Reservist with the Air National Guard from 1954 - 1957

     Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a mechanic at Whiting Door Manufacturing. 

     He is survived by his son Robert Smith of Louisiana, grandson Michael Smith of Georgia, granddaughter Joann Larson, great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

     He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria (Weise); his brothers Harvey, Frederick, Phillip, and John Joe, and his sisters Clara, Rhoda and Millie.

     Services will be private.

     Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.

     Arrangements are in the care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
