Kim Elaine (Granger) Meggison was born in New Jersey in 1956, to William and Yvonne Granger.
She attended Catholic school for most of her childhood, but when she and her family moved to New York she was enrolled in Mexico High School, and with her newfound freedom she immediately skipped the first two days of school, a story she loved recounting to her children with a wink.
She went to college at SUNY Oswego, later transferring to SUNY Morrisville where she explored art and business. She met the love of her life during her time at school and married Glynn “Mike” Meggison in 1976, joining Mike’s family: Glynn and Marjorie Meggison and their children, Jay, Tricia, and Lee.
Four years later Kim would give birth to a daughter, Colleen, followed by Glynn (Billy) in 1985.
As she leaves us to join the great card game in the sky, she is survived by her husband, son, and daughter, as well as her brother Michael Granger, sister Michele (Granger) DuBois, grandchildren Austin Hall, Kiara Barton, and Blake Meggison, and great-granddaughter Alexandria Hall, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, coworkers, and the many people who simply called her “mom” or “sis.”
There were so many cats and so many songs in her life. She loved the ocean, the feel of the sand, and the peace of getting lost staring at the water. She had a sincere smile for everyone she met and a hug for everyone within range. She saw the hidden beauty in all people and in all things. She was the hidden beauty. She will be deeply missed, but never truly gone.
