Lakeside Artisans Easter-Themed Classes Planned for March

Lakeside Artisans, 191 West First Street in Oswego, is preparing for the Easter season by offering classes in techniques to make Easter eggs and baskets and watercolor painting with a Spring theme.

Learn how to make fabric covered Easter eggs in a class on Saturday, March 14 th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Kathy Fenlon will demonstrate how to make colorful Easter eggs using a variety of decorative fabrics. There is no sewing involved, and this class is open to adults as well as children age 10 and over. Students will select from a variety of beautiful fabric and make two of their own unique Easter eggs.

A class to make fabric baskets will be held on Wednesday, March 18 th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. These baskets can be used for a variety of purposes—as an Easter basket, or to decorate and hold items in the bathroom, on a desk or computer table, in a nursery etc. The instructor, Kathy Fenlon, will help students select from a variety of fabric and design and sew a basket in class. For students who do not have a sewing machine, one will be provided. There is a limit of 4 students for this class.

Diane Chepko-Sade is teaching a class in how to make Glass Ukranian Easter Eggs in brightly colored patterns and designs on Saturday, March 21, from 10am to Noon. All materials are provided. Chepko-Sade creates glass egg ornaments by glueing small pieces of glass onto an oval glass shape and fusing them together in a kiln. There is a limit of 8 students for this class.

Michele Southgate will offer a Watercolor class for beginners and experienced painters alike. The class will be on Saturday, March 28 from 10am to Noon. All materials are provided however, if you have a favorite brush or palette, feel free to bring it with you.

The fee for each class is $45 which includes the required non-refundable registration fee of $10. Participants may register for any class in person or by mailing the fee and contact information to Lakeside Artisans at 191 West First Street, Oswego, NY 13126.
