Write a commentLaurie Jane (Pratt) Krul, 47, of Oswego, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017.
She was born September 5, 1970 to her mother, Lorraine (Thompson) Pratt, and her late father, Richard J. Pratt.
Laurie married her best friend and love, George Krul on September 18, 1992. Together they raised the light of their lives, their beautiful daughter, Rachel Noelle Krul.
Family and friends were Laurie’s passion and delight. She is survived by her four brothers, Rick (Lynne), R.J. (Tanya), Randy (Penny), Jason (Terri) Pratt, and her brother-in-law, Andy (Terese) Krul. Laurie was a loving and devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews, often referred to as their “second mother”.
Laurie had many extended family and friends that meant the world to her. Growing up on Thompson Road, Laurie had a very special relationship with her late grandparents, Edward and Betty Thompson, her late uncle, Edward Thompson, her aunt Debbie (Dick) Boyea and her cousins, Congetta (Rob) Cole, Gina (Michael) Severn, Holly (Michael) Thompson-Taylor and their children.
As a life long resident of Oswego, Laurie and George owned Stoney Meadow Farm in Scriba where they cultivated not only pumpkins and corn, but family memories and an abundance of friends and fun. Laurie was employed at Oswego County for 27 years.
Laurie was devoted to her faith and a life long member of West Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, active as a Sunday school teacher and summer bible school, as well as playing the bells.
Laurie was an avid softball player, playing many years for Oswego Women’s teams.
Twice as a child, Laurie was on the Children’s Miracle Network. Laurie was an extremely strong, loving, faithful, woman who’s zest for life will live on in all of our hearts.
Calling hours will be held 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Nelson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the West Baptist Church, 39 W Mohawk St, Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
