Lawrence W. Carr, 91, of Oswego, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, in Seneca Hill Manor.
Mr. Carr was born in Lisbon, N.H., a son of the late Frank and Eva (Aldrich) Carr.
Mr. Carr was a 58-year member of Local 545, in Syracuse, as an operating engineer, working at various construction sites. He enjoyed spending time at his camp in the Adirondack's hunting and fishing.
Mr. Carr served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945 with the 965 Engineer's Battalion in Normandy, France.
Mr. Carr is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley Carr, of Oswego; his children, Bill (Dorothy) Carr and Thomas (JoAnn) Carr, all of Scriba, Darrell (Bobbi) Carr, of Oswego, Donald (Julie) Carr, of Hannibal, Ryan Carr, of Fulton, and Darlene Grey, of New Hampshire; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, David Carr, in 2002.
Funeral services and burial in Peck Cemetery will be private.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday, April 29, at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
