Lee B. Walker, Sr., 85 of Oswego passed away Thursday evening at his home.

Mr. Walker was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Louis and Laura F. (McGrath) Walker.

He had been employed at the Marathon Paper Co., Columbia Mills Co. where he had served proudly as President of the Textile Union Local 129 for ten years and then went to Alcan Aluminum Co. until his retirement in 1998.

Mr. Walker was an avid reader, cribbage player, a devoted NY Yankee, and NY Giants fan.

A remarkable athlete, he played for over 50 years in the Men’s Fastpitch Softball in Oswego and many years in Men’s City League Basketball and the Fast Pitch Industrial League. He proudly served twenty years as a member of the Sons of American Legion, Post 268.

He loved Karaoke and most of all loved his family.

He is survived by his significant other, Donna Reeves, of over fifty years. He is also survived by his two sons, Lee (Kathy) Walker, Jr., Shawn (Kristina) Walker, both of Oswego, two daughters Rhonda Bivens of Oswego, Dr. Leah (Shaun) Deasy, Ed.D. of Mexico. The mother of his sons Yvonne Bateman, of Oswego, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his caregivers, granddaughter Rikki Walker and niece Vicki Nelson.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Louis “Mike” Walker, Jr., Fred Walker, James Walker, Robert Walker and three sisters Delores Cirbus, Lois Hall, and Maryanne Penfield.

Funeral services will be 10AM Wednesday November 8 at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home followed by burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Calling hours Tuesday 4-7PM at the funeral home.
