On Saturday April 11, 2015, Delta Kappa Kappa Inc., in partnership with SUNY Oswego's Men's Varsity Ice Hockey team will host their second annual 'For The Kids' event to support the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Oswego County. The event will take place at Cheap Seats Sports Bar and Grill located at 6 Hillside Avenue in Oswego, NY.

Beginning at 3:00 p.m., the event will include an all day chicken BBQ, live music, outdoor games, face painting, volleyball, and a twenty-person horse and carriage courtesy of Black Magic Stables. In addition, the event will host a silent auction featuring an array of prizes from local businesses, as well as, signed NHL memorabilia. All proceeds generated by the event will be donated to the CAC, a non-profit charitable organization based in Fulton, NY that provides a safe, child-friendly site for the investigation, persecution and treatment of child abuse.

The For the Kids Charity is now in its second year of operation, working alongside the CAC to raise awareness and assist the children and families in Oswego County affected by child abuse. The fundraiser is the brainchild of SUNY Oswego students Denvol Haye, member of DKK Fraternity, and Eli Kim-Swallow, a forward on the Men's Varsity Ice Hockey Team. The two students, now seniors, started the fundraiser last year, in April 2014, which helped raise over $3,700 for the CAC.

"Last year was such a great success and everyone had such a great time, but seeing as it was our inaugural event, there were many things we knew we could improve upon and expand and this year I feel we've done just that," said Kim-Swallow. "We've brought on six more students, three from both organizations, each playing a monumental role in this year's campaign. That alone makes a world of difference. The impact that the CAC has on so many kids lives, and the potential good they can achieve with a little extra help from our campaign is what made us do it again." With the growing support, new goals have been set this year to raise $10,000 for the CAC.

"We're aware of how fortunate we are, to be able to experience a higher education in such a great community, it's important to give back to the people we share this experience with," said Haye. "We have a lot of respect for what the CAC does. This year, with Oswego County being recognized for the most reported cases of child abuse in the entire state, 'For The Kids' is needed now more than ever. Please join us this Saturday and help us show support for such a great cause."
