Love INC is not another program, but a method for assisting with intake, assessment, and referral—utilizing trained volunteers from our local churches. I am inviting you to a Vision-Casting forum, to be held for the community at the Kallet Theater in Pulaski on Tuesday, March 17 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. The event is free, and open to everyone interested in finding out how Love “In the Name of Christ” (Love INC) works.
We know that clients sometimes face multi-faceted needs, and at times have difficulty expressing those needs or following through to receive the services that are available for them. We also know that they often turn to our churches for help, but that churches with the desire to help are frequently ill-equipped to provide what is most needed. Love INC seeks to connect the efforts of churches with the programs offered by our service providers. We will coordinate efforts between churches across denominational lines. We will train those volunteers to know where to turn, utilizing uniform procedures and providing consistent service. We will do so in places that are easy to get to, and will offer our neighbors a welcoming smile and … well, love.
This clearinghouse approach has been extremely successful in other communities across the nation. We intend to provide this kind of service for people living in the Sandy Creek, APW, Mexico and Pulaski school districts, starting this year. With our churches, service providers, and community organizations working together, we believe we can have far greater impact than any one of us could have, working on our own.
