The Oswego County Legislature's Human Services Committee presented a proclamation designating March as Developmental Disabilities Month.

While one in every 43 Americans is affected by developmental disabilities, they all still have valuable attributes that allow them to make worthwhile contributions to their communities. This proclamation celebrates this diversity and the efforts of dedicated individuals, volunteers and providers who work tirelessly on their behalf.

On hand for the proclamation are County Legislator Daniel Farfaglia, District 24; Mark Rozyczko, Cheri Haskins, Alissa Viscome, Kristine Firenzi, and Mike Szpak, representing Oswego Industries/ARC of Oswego County; Committee Chairman Kevin Gardner, District 13; Committee Vice Chairman Ronald Sakonyi, District 5; Legislator John Proud, District 7; Legislator Shawn Doyle, District 3; Kateri Senke; Lisa Sequin, Oswego ARISE; Collette Nellis, Oswego County Opportunities, Inc.; Nicole Kolmsee, Director of Mental Hygiene Services, Oswego County Department of Social Services; and Legislators James Karasek, District 22; and Douglas Malone, District 20.
