Margaret J. Cullen, 83 and a resident of Scriba passed away Sunday morning at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on the St. Regis Indian Reservation, a member of the turtle clan in Akwesasne, N.Y. And was the daughter of the late Jonas and Mary Cook Gray.

Mrs. Cullen was employed for many years as a seamstress at the Alma Foundation in Oswego NY, and for the Warner garment factory in Massena N.Y. She was an Avon representative for over 37 years in the Oswego area. She was a long time communicant of St. Louis and St. Peter’s Church. She was a member of the Snowbelt Snowmobiling club and enjoyed Nascar racing.

Mrs. Cullen is survived by four daughters, Ellen (David) Delaney of Oswego, Kim (David) Thompson of Virginia, Cynthia (Nick) Kramer of Colorado, Dawn (Brad) Myers of Oswego, two sons, Carlton (Peggy) Cullen and Tom Cullen both of Oswego, three brothers, Edward Gray, Louie Gray, Abram Gray, George Gray (deceased) all of Akwesasne, three sisters Ruth Dora of Watertown, Dorothy Shatlaw of Hogansburg, and Marie Seymour of Cornwall, Canada. Grand children include; Brandon Delaney, Dustin Delaney, Stephanie Alder, Todd Brady, Michelle Mcletchie, Jeff Brady, Rachel Cullen, Erica Cullen, Karli Kramer, Emily Cullen, Lexi Cullen, Amber Cullen, Ryan Deline, Blake Deline, Damien Deline, Patrick Myers, Mindy Myers and Mariah Tinco -- she had several great grandchildren whom she adored.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 AM Thursday from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 9:30AM in St. Peter’s Church. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8PM at the funeral home.
