Margaret "Peg" Saternow, 89 of Saratoga Springs, NY and a longtime resident of Oswego passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2015 in Florida.

She was born on March 12, 1926 in Syracuse to the late John and Marguerite Lawless Whalen. She was a Communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Oswego and St. Clements Church in Saratoga Springs, NY. Peg enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner, playing cards at the Wilton Senior Center, working on various crafts, wintering in Florida and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Jay (Patty) Saternow of Falmouth, Massachusetts, Michele Powers of Saratoga Springs, John (Diane) Saternow of Oswego, Melanie (Dennis) Russell of Oswego and Melissa Harvey of Saratoga Springs, thirteen grandchildren, Alyssa (Mark) Proud, Emily Saternow, Amber (Chris) Weier, John Saternow, Lindsay (Derek) DeGennaro, Josh Saternow, Nick (Amanda) Saternow, Brian Powers, Matt and Jake Russell, Evan, Chloe and Sophie Harvey, eight great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins, who all loved her for her kindness, her infectious smile, as well as her memorable handmade gifts and treats.

Peg was predeceased by her husband William J. Saternow, whom she was married to for over 53 years. She was also predeceased by her sister, Suzanne Easterly; her husband, Jack and son-in-law, Patrick Powers.

Calling hours will be from Wednesday 4-7 PM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home

Funeral services will be held Thursday 8:30 AM from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 9:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church.

Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery.
