Mary Louise Haines 55, beloved owner and operator of The Darling Elves flower and gift shop in Oswego, NY, passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was a cherished member of the community and a beacon of warmth and creativity through her vibrant and welcoming store.
Mary was born to Vivian L. Cummings (née Jenkins) and John G. Griffin. Her early life was marked by a strong sense of family, which she carried into her adult years. Mary was predeceased by her husband BJ Haines, her son Steven Woolson, and her parents.
She is survived by her brother John Griffin, who shared a lifelong bond with her; her daughter Rebecca Haines, who was her pride and joy; her stepson Eric Haines, whom she loved dearly; and her longtime partner Christopher Blake and his daughter Emily, who brought much happiness and companionship into her life; and two stepbrothers, Scott Cummings, and Bob Cummings.
Mary's passion for flowers and gifts blossomed into The Darling Elves, a beloved local shop known for its unique and heartfelt offerings. Through her store, she touched the lives of many in Oswego, creating a space filled with beauty and joy.
Her legacy of love, creativity, and dedication to family and community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. Mary Louise Haines will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.
Services will be private.
There will be no calling hours.
