Child Care Provider Appreciation Day is recognized on Friday, May 8, 2026, celebrating the dedication and impact of child care providers across Oswego County.

Observed annually on the Friday before Mother’s Day, Child Care Provider Appreciation Day honors early childhood educators, home-based providers, and caregivers who play a critical role in supporting working families and fostering the healthy development of young children.

In communities throughout Oswego County, child care providers do far more than supervise – they create safe, nurturing environments where children learn, grow, and build the foundation for future success. Their work enables parents to participate in the workforce while knowing their children are in capable and caring hands.

“Child care providers are essential to the strength of our community,” said Brandy Koproski, Executive Director of Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County (ICPOC). “They support children during some of the most important stages of development and provide families with the stability they need to work and thrive. Their dedication deserves recognition not just today, but every day.”

Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County encourages residents to take a moment to thank a child care provider who has made a difference in their lives.

For those interested in becoming a child care provider, seeking child care, or learning more about available resources, ICPOC offers guidance, training opportunities, and ongoing support to help individuals start and sustain high-quality child care programs.
