Handel's majestic "Messiah" will echo through St. Mary of the Assumption Church as a Holiday Concert features singers from SUNY Oswego, Oswego High School and throughout the community at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1.

The evening at St. Mary's, 103 W. Seventh St. in Oswego, will feature the college-community Festival Chorus, the Oswego High School Chamber Singers, the SUNY Oswego men's and women's choirs and the Youth Choir. Admission is free; donations at the door for the Youth Choir and Festival Chorus are appreciated.

Organizer Dr. Mihoko Tsutsumi, coordinator of choral activities at the college and a member of its music faculty, said that besides the Festival Chorus' performance of George Frideric Handel's revered oratorio "Messiah," the choirs each will sing a piece, then all of the ensembles together will sing the Finnish carol "Personent Hodie" and "Noel," an African song. The Rev. John F. Hogan Jr., St. Mary's pastor, will narrate parts of "The Messiah."

For more information, contact Tsutsumi at 315-312-2130 or mihoko.tsutsumi@oswego.edu.
