Michael A. Coad passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at University Hospital.

He was born in Oswego on July 7, 1948 to Benjamin "Crawf" and Helen (O'Connell) Coad. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Deborah (Wilkinson) Coad on September 17, 1977.
Together they enjoyed life including many years of sailing,golfing and bowling.

Michael worked in Office Product Sales for 45 years and took great pride in helping his many customers with their office needs. He most recently worked part-time for NAPA, where he met many new friends.

He was an active member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Oswego Elks Lodge #271. Michael served as the Secretary- Treasurer of the Past Exalted Rulers Association and participated in various Elks community activities including soccer, golf, punt pass and kick, the Public Safety Awards and as the Bulletin Editor. He could also be found as the Leprechaun at St.Patrick Day events.

Mr. Coad was an Air Force veteran serving from 1968-1972.

He would "work for a cause, not applause", "Live life to express not to impress", "Didn't strive to make his presence noticed, just his absence felt".

In addition to his parents, Michael was also predeceased by his brothers, Edwin and Richard and his father-in-law, Earl Wilkinson.

He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife, Deborah, mother- in-law, Patricia Wilkinson and his little miniature schnauzer buddy, Jonah Tigger.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00-6:00 with a service to follow the hours,

Spring burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Elk's Major Projects, 132 West Fifth Street, Oswego, N.Y. 13126.
