Write a commentMichael T. Meehan, 68, a lifelong resident of Oswego and most recently a resident of Bishop Commons passed away on May 21 at his home after a brief illness.
Born in Oswego, he was the eldest son of the late John E. and Helen (Diviney) Meehan. He was a graduate of the Oswego Public High School and had attended Clarkson University.
He was employed with the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Stations for Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation/Constellation Energy/Exelon for over 25 years.
He was a member of the Oswego Elk's #271, Ancient Order of the Hibernians and the Fortnightly Club. Michael was an avid golfer.
Surviving are his two sons, Michael V. (Shannon) Meehan of Fairfax,Virginia and Matthew (Kelly Ellis) Meehan of Fairfax, Virginia, two brothers , Martin Meehan of Oswego ,John P. Meehan of Abington, MA, a sister, Maureen (Neil) Shallish of Trumansburg, NY, four grandchildren, Abigail, Olivia, Jack, and Audrey and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bishop Commons in Oswego for being an extension of our family with the compassionate care they provided for Michael over the years.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00-7:00 at the Dowdle Funeral Home.
