Write a commentMyrtle C. Haines, 88, of Oswego passed away last Monday morning at Bishop’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born in Oswego and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Louise Boardway Johnson.
Mrs. Haines was the widow of Harry P. Haines, Sr. who died in 2003.
She had been employed with Alcan Rolled Products until her retirement. She had previously been employed by Columbia Mills and Hammermill.
She loved horses and was a well known horse trainer in Oswego County.
Mrs. Haines is survived by her son Craig (Maureen Hennigan) Haines of Oswego, her brother Bill Johnson, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren her best friend of over 70 years Shirley Durfey of Oklahoma.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three children, Harry P. Haines, Jr.. Virgina “Ginny” Vasquez Billy Joe “BJ” Haines.
Funeral arrangements are private at the request of the family. There are no calling hours.
