CNY Arts Center has added Joyce Cook to the lineup of new authors to be featured in the next Author’s Spotlight, Sunday, March 18th from 3-5 pm at the Arts Hotspot, 47 S. 1st St. in downtown Fulton.

Author’s Spotlight, a quarterly event featuring local authors from the CNY region will spotlight Joyce Cook’s new book about Elmina Spencer who served on the Civil War battlefield as a nurse. A monument in Oswego’s East Park stands in testament to her participation as a Matron and Nurse.

Cook is a retired public library director and editor of three books on local and New York State history and an avid researcher. This is the first published book by Cook who also has contributed research and genealogy information on many historical figures and events. Joyce will be on hand to discuss her research and her book will be available for sale. Author Spotlight is a Q&A style event with book signing and is always free to the public!

Also featured, local resident Patti Bucher, who had her first book published in October 2017. A is for Andy is a children’s alphabet book that makes learning fun with rhyming words and colorful pictures. For more information, visit www.CNYArtsCenter.com.
