Oswego County Business Magazine is once again organizing its Forty Under 40 event. Sponsors of this year's event are SUNY Oswego Office of Business and Community Relations, Oswego Health, Pathfinder Bank and Bond, Schoeneck & King.
"We're now reaching out to our readers and the community to ask their help to identify those who are under the age 40 and who have made a difference in the community," said Wagner Dotto, Oswego County Business' publisher. "Professional success is one of the criteria. Equally important is the work they do in the community."
Nominations can be download by clicking on the link at OswegoCountyBusiness.com. There is no charge involved. Applications must be submitted before April 15. It should be mailed to Oswego County Business, PO Box 276, Oswego, NY 13126.
This is the fourth Forty Under 40 event organized by Oswego County Business.
"We started Forty Under 40 in 2004 and the event was an instant success with more than 50 applications and a big reception hosted by TV personality Dan Cummings," Dotto said. "The second and third events took place in 2006 and 2008/9. They were equality successful."
Among those recognized in past events were engineers, professionals of marketing, bankers, social worker, attorneys, union leaders, police officers, medical doctors, students and a number of people from all walks of life.
"We ask members of an independent panel to select the finalists," Dotto said. "This panel looks carefully at volunteer work, involvement with community projects or any work with organizations or independent groups that help make the community a better place to live and work."
The event follows the same format as similar events in Syracuse and elsewhere across the country.
The main goal is to identify and recognize young leaders and future leaders in the community.
A special breakfast will be scheduled at a later date.
