Nicholas J. Sereno, 66, of Oswego, passed away December 17th, 2018 at Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Jasper and Helen (Jaskula) Sereno.
Nick earned his Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego in Psychology.
After graduating, he worked at Niagara Mohawk and Constellation Energy for many years, retiring in 2006. He loved bowling and proudly fulfilled his life long dream of owning his own bowling facility. He dreamed up, built, and co-owned Lighthouse Lanes.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and was an avid Yankee and Giants fan.
Nick is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane (Moore) Sereno; two daughters, Kelly (Mel Bessaha) Sereno of Manhattan, and Stacey (Glenn) Soucy of Natick Mass.; a son, Michael (Megan) Sereno of Rochester; sister, Nancy (Ronald) Gula of Cleveland Ohio; also 4 grandchildren, Connor, Lillian, and Emilia Sereno, and Ryan Soucy; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday, December 21st from 2-6 PM at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, December 22nd at Christ the Good Shepard at St. Joseph’s Church.
