NRG Energy will be sponsoring the Lakeview Stage in Breitbeck Park once again this year for Harborfest.
Each year national artists, tribute bands, and local artists are featured on Lakeview Stage throughout the weekend, starting on Thursday night.
NRG Lakeview Stage, Harborfest’s main stage, has hosted more than 50 national acts admission-free over the past 26 festivals. For the 27th edition of Harborfest, two more national acts will be added to the list. Thursday night, Atlanta Rhythm Section, presented by C&S Companies and Cayuga Community College, will take the stage at 9:15 p.m. to play music from its 15 “southern rock” albums, including their greatest hits “So Into You,” “Champagne Jam,” “Imaginary Lover,” and “Spooky.”
Friday night at 10 p.m., Grand Funk Railroad, presented by Eagle Beverage, Budweiser, and Exelon Generation, will play high-energy classic rock, including its mega-hits “We’re an American Band,” “I’m Your Captain/Closer to Home,” “Locomotion,” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.”
“We are excited for the continued partnership with NRG Energy," Carol Dillabough, sponsorship coordinator of Harborfest, said. "Their sponsorship allows us to have a great stage and stage crew for the Lakeview Stage. Without NRG Energy’s commitment, it wouldn’t be possible to bring in national and regional performing artists for thousands of central New Yorkers each year.”
The 27th edition of Oswego Harborfest will take place July 24-27. A complete listing of entertainment and attractions can be found at www.oswegoharborfest.com.
