The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center is excited to announce two new programs coming up in October for nature enthusiasts of all ages.
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, the 4-H Natural Resources Educator will lead an Autumn Leaves program from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Attendees will learn the function of leaves, why they change color, and how trees practice reciprocity. They will wrap up the program with a leaf hunt to find as many species as can be found.
Then, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m., our 4-H Natural Resources Educator will present a New Moon Hike, perfect for spooky season. The program will begin in the Schoeck Building, where participants will briefly learn more about the moon phases and why the moon changes. Then the group will head out into the woods to explore.
These programs are designed for people of all ages and offer a unique opportunity for people to connect with nature. While space is limited, registration is open to all — residency in Oswego County is not required. The fee for each program is $4 per person or $12 per family. Advance registration is required to attend.
