The Oswego High School Interact Club recently collected and donated over two hundred cold weather items of clothing for the Victory Transformation Center, in Oswego. Items including coats, hats, mittens, scarves, and gloves, will be provided to members of the local community that are in need.
Interact Club is affiliated with Rotary International and seeks to promote community service and pride among high school students.
The Victory Center is a local service organization whose mission is to reach out to members of the community in need of love, hope and encouragement, while seeking to address their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
“A project like this is important because it helps our students understand how necessary it is to support the community, as well as assist those in need,” Interact Advisor Warren Shaw said.
“We have an immediate need for many of these items,” Victory Transformation Center Director Daun Whittaker said. “They will be put to good use.”
“It is nice that we can help those in need by putting in a little time and effort, and having it go a long way to help those who might not have a lot right now,” Interact member Jaielle Litchison said.
