OHS Interact Club Joins Others for Fundraiser

     On Tuesday, May 20, the Oswego High School Interact Club will join with Oswego Sunrise Rotary and Friends of the Library to present a dinner and movie event at the new Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center at Alexandria's here in Oswego.

     The purpose of the event is to raise money for support of the Oswego City Library, as well as support other local community services and events. Dr. Joseph Sgarlata will present a brief overview of Oswego's relationship with the book's author, Solomon Northup, as well as provide remarks about Oswego's involvement with the underground railroad. Above (center), Interact president, Brooke Broadwell, presents Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center owner George Broadwell with a poster for display at the Best Western hotel. Joining them are Warren Shaw, Interact Club advisor, Janet Hutcheson, Friends of the Library, Hannah Fitzgerald, Interact Vice-President, Katelyn Clary, Interact Secretary, Lisa Shaw, Oswego Sunrise Rotary President, and Carol Reed, Oswego Sunrise Rotary. The event will include an Italian Buffet and screening of the film "12 Years a Slave". Events will begin at 5 p.m with a cash bar, dinner at 6 p.m and the movie at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 and available at the Oswego Library, River's End Book Store, and the Oswego Tea Company.
