Oswego resident Michael Paul Callahan has been invited to perform in the #1 in the world Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Festival in Lake George, NY May 30-June 3.

Kevin LaMontagne recently joined Operation Oswego County, Inc. (OOC) as Business Finance Director.

New York State Supreme Court Candidate Scott DelConte has received the endorsement of the Central-Northern New York Building & Construction Trades Council (CNNYBTC), which represents approximately 5,000 construction workers and 17 member unions.

    Joanne Gardner was one of the people honored at ARISE's annual Special Appreciation Event in Syracuse.

Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) recently honored Literacy Volunteers Tutor Julie Forbes with the agency’s prestigious Howard Wilcox Volunteer of the Year Award. Established in memory of a very special OCO volunteer, the Howard Wilcox Volunteer of the Year Award is presented annually to a volunteer that goes above and beyond in offering their time and talents to an OCO program.

     Two veteran elementary school teachers were recognized by the Oswego City School District (OCSD) at the recent Board of Education meeting.

     Rosemary Ingersoll and Mary Ann Bullard have been teaching Oswego's children for a combined for more than half a century comgined. They were presented "Certificates of Recognition" by OCSD board president John Dunsmoor and superintendent of schools Bill Crist.

     Twelve SUNY Oswego students received Empire State Diversity Honors Scholarships this year.

     Jonathan Daniels, who has served as the executive director of the Port of Oswego Authority since 2007, has been hired as the new executive director of the Mississippi State Port Authority at Gulfport. He will be leaving in June to take up the position in mid-June. A party to send him off was recently held at the Press Box.

     A panel of volunteer judges has selected the artwork of five SUNY Oswego employees to join the Everson Museum of Art's Sept. 12 to Oct. 6 exhibition of "On My Own Time" pieces from companies and institutions around the region.
