On December 17, 2016, the Oswego County Deputies Association held their annual Christmas Party during which they commended several of their member's outstanding performances throughout the course of the year. Present among the members were Oswego County Sheriff, Reuel Todd and Road Patrol Lieutenant, Charles Atkinson, who joined in the Association's appreciation of another successful year of its members protecting and serving the many citizens of Oswego County.

To open the presentation were a few words from the Association's President, Deputy Robert Ramsey, thanking the members for their continuous contributions to their Association as well as their presence at the celebration. Deputy Ramsey was then accompanied by two of the Association's Award Committee members, Investigator James Johnson and Deputy Kristy Crast.

Investigator Johnson began by speaking of the formation of the committee early on in the year and its goal of promoting commendation of the Association's member's tireless efforts and continued professionalism not only for the good of the Association but also the Oswego County Sheriff s Office as a whole.

Three members were then announced as additions to the Association's recognition plaque which is proudly displayed on the Association's wall within the Oswego County Sheriff s Office. Deputies Todd Delmar, Joseph Harpst and Mark Walton (et al.) were inscribed in the plaque early in the year after a review of submissions from their fellow peers and supervisory staff, commending them for their notorious and honorable performances on three distinct complaints.

Four award recipients were also announced by the committee, again based upon submission recommendations by their fellow peers and supervisory staff. Sergeant Brian Wills was selected for the Certificate of Leadership Award. Deputy Joseph Harpst was selected for the Certificate of Exemplary Service Award. Deputy Shane Murray was selected for the Certificate of Commendation Award and Deputy Mathew Saltalamachia was selected for the Certificate of Merit Award . The four members were chosen based upon their overall performances throughout the year as well as their dedication and perseverance for the betterment of not only the Association but the Oswego County Sheriff s Office as well. All honorees received an award plaque captioning their performances as well as recognizing them of the same.

On behalf of the Oswego County Deputies Association we would like to thank not only our community for its continued trust and loyalty to the Oswego County Deputies Association and Sheriff s Office but also the families and supporters withi n, who without we would not be able to provide the level of services and aid rendered to those in need with such a rapid response time and empathetic manner.
