The Oswego County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) held its annual Howliday fundraiser Sunday, Nov. 20, at SUNY Oswego Fallbrook, in Oswego.
The event included pet photos with Santa, a silent auction, homemade food, bake sale and raffles. The auction featured items donated by local businesses and generous individuals. There were also vendors selling pet-themed merchandise and other goods.
"This year's event went very well and we had great foot traffic," Tanya Semchenko, of the Oswego County SPCA, said. "The pictures with Santa was a bit hit."
One hundred percent of the proceeds from the auction and food sales went to the 150-plus animals in the organization's care.
The Oswego County SPCA is a no-kill and 100 percent volunteer organization.
Semchenko pointed out that the organization does not have a physical shelter but operates through a series of pet foster homes.
