Traveling with the Pirates of the Sun on the 100% SOLAR POWERED boat, the 'RA', Mays is having the time of her life. Recently we caught up with her via Facebook, and she had this to say: “It has been the kind of life changing experience, that you wish would go on forever!”
Mays joined the journey with the anticipation of it taking 2 weeks to cruise Lake Michigan to Chicago. With bad weather the trip is taking longer then anticipated but she is committed to completing this leg of the journey regardless of time. Her children, business and home are being looked after by family and friends. Said Mays': We should reach Chicago in about 10 more days” Chicago, IL. is the next milestone on the “Great Loop” route.
Mays originally met the “pirates” in Oswego, NY. She was guiding a Blount Tour Boat walking tour and again when conducting the “Kayaking the Canal” tour which resulted in an invitation to travel with crew on “RA”.
