For the first time, Oswego Kartway will hold a fall championship series to cap off the racing season for three consecutive Friday nights in 2013. The Fall Frenzy Series will take place from Sept. 6-20, and will conclude with a grand finale.

The Kartway announced this week the inaugural running of the 'Fall Frenzy 150' on Friday, Sept. 20, which will comprise extra distance events for the Stock Heavy Flathead 375 and Clone Heavy 375 divisions, to end the three week Fall Frenzy campaign. The 'Flathead Heavy 100' portion of the '150' will be 100-laps in total length, incorporating two 50-lap segments. The 'Clone Heavy 50' event will be a total of 50-laps, utilizing two 25-lap segments.

Caution laps will count during the first 25-laps of each Flathead Heavy segment.

The first two weeks of the Fall Frenzy Series schedule set for Sept. 6 and Sept. 13 will be run as qualifying races to set guaranteed starters for the '150' main events. All other divisions, outside of Stock Heavy Flathead and Clone Heavy, will collect points over the full three week series to determine overall Fall Frenzy champions.

"The Fall Frenzy Series at the Kartway is something we are all excited about trying," said Oswego Kartway's Dan Kapuscinski. "We wanted to offer more racing for everyone into the fall season, and thought this would be a new and innovative way of making it happen. Something like this has never really been attempted at the Kartway before, and we hope it will be a nice way to introduce more people to the type of racing we have on a weekly basis at the Bullring."

The format for the 'Fall Frenzy 150' will be identical for both the 'Flathead Heavy 100' and the 'Clone Heavy 50', with the only difference being the number of laps run in their respective main events on Friday, Sept. 20.

The guaranteed starter program for each main event will be based off of driver finishes in the first two weeks of the Fall Frenzy Series. At the conclusion of the races run on Sept. 6-13, which will see heat line-ups based on blind draw with heat finishes determining feature line-ups, points will be calculated and the top four finishers over the two events in both divisions will be guaranteed to start the Fall Frenzy finales on Sept. 20.

The qualifying program for the '150' on Sept. 20 will see all registered competitors in Flathead Heavy and Clone Heavy time trial, including the guaranteed starters. At the conclusion of time trials, the four guaranteed starters will be joined by the six fastest non-guarantees and they will comprise the front ten positions of their respective main event, with the fastest time starting on the pole and the slowest starting 10th.

Consolation events, lined-up straight up from time trials, will then be run to fill the remainder of each field. No more than 14 karts will start either the 'Flathead Heavy 100' or the 'Clone Heavy 50.'

The 'Flathead Heavy 100' will have a pre-entry fee of $50, with a day of entry set at $60. The 'Clone Heavy 50' pre-entry fee will be $35, with a day of entry set at $45. Entry fees do not include pit passes for the events run on Sept. 20.

Each division will have a 70 percent cash payout based on the number of entries, to the top five finishers.

Based on 20 pre-entries the winner's share of the 'Flathead Heavy 100' would be $350, while the winner of the 'Clone Heavy 50' would take home $200. A halfway bonus of $100 will be paid to the leader of lap 50 in the Flathead Heavy event, while a $50 bonus will be awarded to the leader of lap 25 in the Clone Heavy main.

The possibility of $5 lap sponsorships for each main event is also being explored.

The Fall Frenzy '150' will follow all weekly Oswego Kartway tech rules. The Kartway's rulebook is available at www.oswegokartway.com. All divisions will be required to run Burris tires.

A full run down of event guidelines for the 'Fall Frenzy 150' will be posted to www.oswegokartway.com in the coming days and are subject to change at any time by Oswego Kartway. Pre-entry deadlines will also be announced soon.
