Write a commentThe Oswego Music Hall Season Finale has become a much-anticipated music and food fest. It takes place on Saturday, May 11 from 6 - 10 pm at the McCrobie Civic Center in Oswego.
Oswego resident, Kenny Roffo will kick off festivities at 6:00 followed by dinner and an Emerging Artist Showcase featuring homegrown talent and SUNY students: Chloe Soba; Gina Marie Music Studio Students “Liquid Horizon” (Louisa Huff, Lucy MacLean, Madelyn Christ, Peyton Christ); Harper Ellis, Claire Algerian, Chris Mandart; "Melon Heart” (Tim Attbacher, Brandon Schmitt), and Hunter Cazz accompanied by Ron Castaldo.
The headliner, Sam Robbins, will take the stage at 8:00. Sam is a Nashville based musician whose music evokes classic 70's singer songwriters like James Taylor and Neil Young. Sam has gained recognition from extensive touring and is one of six 2021 winners in the Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk competition, one of the largest and most prestigious songwriting competitions in the country. In 2023, he was voted “Most Wanted to Return” artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.
A multi-instrumentalist from a young age, Sam began learning drums and piano, falling in love with guitar at age 13. He then started writing original music, recording his first CD during his sophomore year of high school, while playing open mics in his hometown of Portsmouth, NH.

Following this musical feast, the evening ends with a complimentary toast to the sunset and music by The Dust Creatures, Oswego natives Erik Mosher, Emil Christmann, Josh Mumm, and Chris Wahl. Erik, the band’s founder, is a singer- songwriter who began performing in theater at age 4 and is self-taught on guitar. Emil on drums, is co-owner of the rivers’ end bookstore and played the star role of Kerouac in March. Since moving back to Oswego, Josh Mumm (guitar, vocals) has held leading roles in a number of plays including Kerouac. Chris Wahl (trombone, keyboard, vocals) acted alongside his fellow Dust Creatures in the high school; also in college and teaches P-Tech at CiTi BOCES.
Admission to the Finale is free for Music Hall members. Non-member tickets are $15 and an optional dinner is $10. Children 16 and under half price; under 6 are free. Tickets (cash or check only) for the show and dinner can be purchased at the door. Membership can be purchased online, or at the door, for as little as $10.
The wheelchair accessible venue is located in the McCrobie Civic Center, on 41 Lake Street in Oswego. It is adjacent to Breitbeck Park and overlooks Lake Ontario and the Oswego Harbor. The atmosphere is intimate with candle-lit tables surrounding a small stage.
