The two-person musical, "The Last Five Years" will be the August offering of the Oswego Players. Following on the enormous success of "Guys and Dolls", the Players are presenting the Jason Robert Brown musical under the direction of Richard Mosher.

"The Last Five Years" tells the story of a couple played by Molly Brown and Michael LaBarbera who recount their life together, one from the present backward in time and the other from the past to the present. The musical has been a hit ever since it first appeared on stage in 2001.

Brown returns to the Players' stage after performances in "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown," "Once Upon a Mattress," and "Nuncrackers." She has also appeared with other central New York theater groups, playing Louise in "Always Patsy Cline" and "Elizabeth in "Young Frankenstein."

LaBarbera is following up his recent performance as Sky Masterson in "Guys and Dolls" with the Players. Before that he had appeared with other groups in "South Pacific,", Jekyll and Hyde," and "Jesus Christ Superstar."

The two actors have been brought together by director Richard Mosher and music director Dan Williams to present this moving story of a young couple examining their relationship.

"The Last Five Years" is being presented by special arrangements with Music Theater International and will be staged in the Frances Marion Brown Theater of the Civic Arts Center at Fort Ontario, Fri. and Sat. Aug. 21, 22, 28 and 29 at 8 pm and Sun., Aug. 30 at 2 pm. For tickets call the box office at 343-5138.
