Kateri Spinella, co-founder and Board Chair for Anthony House of Wellhouse Ministries Inc., was the speaker at the September 30 meeting of the Oswego Rotary Club.
She shared the plans for a facility in Hannibal to provide end-of-life comfort care for Hospice patients. The mission of Anthony House is to provide a peaceful, comforting environment for those at the end of their life journey.
Hospice provides Medicare/Medicaid regulated care and services that allow patients to spend their final days in a comfortable supportive setting. Unfortunately, some families are not able to provide round-the-clock care.
That’s where Anthony House comes in. The house in Hannibal will help meet this need. Initially it will serve 4 people and is planning on increasing that to 8. There is a real need in Oswego County for this ministry.
