Certified Nurse Midwife, Lindsay Lachant, has joined the professional staff at Oswego County OB-GYN, P.C. and the medical staff at Oswego Hospital.

Lachant graduated in November 2012 from Frontier Nursing University in Hyen, Ky. with a master of science degree in nurse-midwifery and is board certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She has more than eight years of experience as a labor and delivery nurse before becoming a nurse-midwife and also holds an associate's and a baccalaureate degrees in nursing.
Lachant said she decided to continue her education and earn an advanced degree in midwifery so that she could develop a long-term relationship with patients.
"I like providing a continuum of care," she said. "I think it's very important to see patients from the beginning stages of pregnancy, through delivery and after their baby is born."
Lachant is ready to provide obstetrical services to the women of Oswego County in the new maternity center at Oswego Hospital. She said she feels that the technology in Oswego will help her to provide exceptional care both in the hospital and office settings.
In addition to her obstetrical duties, Lachant has extensive training in routine gynecological procedures and well-woman care and is eager to establish a patient following in the Oswego area.
Lachant, her husband, and their two young daughters, have relocated to Oswego.
"We like living in a smaller community where you can get to know people and have the opportunity to be active in the community," she said.
