Born Patricia McCarthy on September 6, 1940, in Oswego, NY to Patrick and Anastacia (Nee Kasperek) McCarthy. Her joy for life was infectious, found in everyday moments, family gatherings and the simple pleasure of being together.
She had a BA in Elementary Education from SUNY Oswego and taught for 30 years at Riley School in Oswego, NY and Hilton, NY. She found immense joy in playing Bridge, and spending time with friends and her cherished family.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terrence. She is survived by her children, Mary Ann McHugh (Peter), Maureen Coughlin (Peter Lyon), John Coughlin, Terrence Coughlin (Kristi Arrowood); her grandchildren, Madeline Gandy (Paul), Meredith McHugh, Meghan McHugh, Jack Lyon, Bridget Lyon, Thomas Lyon, Mia McHugh; and her sister, Mary McCarthy.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 23rd, from 10-12 pm at Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego, with a celebration of life immediately to follow. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
