Patricia I. Brown, 76, a longtime resident of the Oswego, Mexico area passed away Monday in Georgia, where she had resided for the past several years.
Mrs. Brown was born in Ellisburg, NY and was the daughter of the late Chester and Isabel Hoxie Sams.
She had been employed as a teaching assistant with Oswego County BOCES, working in various classrooms and schools until her retirement in 2001. Pat was avid reader and could always be found with a book in hand. She also volunteered serving as a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader and a Sunday School teacher over the years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warner Robins GA where she and her husband had relocated to 5 years ago.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles E. Brown of Warner Robbins, GA, two daughters Kathleen (Carl) Wood of Warner Robbins, GA, Kelly (Michael) Dunsmoor of Oswego, one son Michael (Monica) Brown of Painted Post, NY, one brother Douglas (Patricia) Sams of Williamstown, five grandchildren; Sara (John) Stover of Dublin, GA, Jason Wood of Atlanta GA, Clinton (Julia) Dunsmoor of Owasco, NY, JoBeth (Conor) Kirchner of Liverpool, NY, and Alexander Brown of Painted Post, NY along with four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her beloved pets; Bailey, Kadie and Bob.
She was predeceased by one son Mark E. Brown and a brother Donn Sams.
Calling hours will be Friday from 3-5 PM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be Saturday 10:00AM in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.
