Clear one-note calls of Spring Peepers invite everyone to explore the enchanting woodland nurseries of spring, vernal pools. Salamanders and frogs emerge from winter hibernation and migrate to these shallow breeding pools.
On Sunday, April 10th at 2:00 pm the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center will host Peeps in Pools. During this hands on program, people will be able to discover these amphibians and other interesting inhabitants of the vernal pools with naturalist Pat Carney. Water-proof boots or shoes that can get wet and muddy are highly recommended.
Peeps in Pools is a hands on program designed for people of all ages. There is a $4.00 program fee per person or a family rate of $12.00 which will be collected on the day of the program.
