Philip "Phadob" F. Pecora, 93, of Oswego, died Monday, June 17, 2013, in the Oswego Hospital.
He was born in Oswego to the late F. Daniel and Carmela Pecora and remained a life resident.
Mr. Pecora was a United States veteran having served in the Army during World War II and was present during the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from Cyclotherm Boiler Co., Oswego after 39 years of service. He worked as a crossing guard at Bridge, Liberty and Utica streets for 20 years.
Mr. Pecora was a member of the Elks Lodge BPOE # 271, Knights of Columbus Council #227, the American Legion and the VFW Crisafulli Post. He was also a bartender at Sereno's Restaurant, in Oswego, and Canale's Barn, in Scriba. Mr. Pecora was a faithful communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Oswego and he enjoyed being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Theresa Pecora, of Oswego; their children, Phyllis (Dan Greene) Masuicca, Daniel (Kathleen) Pecora and Dennis (Dana) Pecora, all of Oswego; a brother Joseph Pecora, of Oswego; grandchildren, John "JP" (Laurie Davis) Masuicca, Terri (Jason) Wills, Brian (Julie) Masuicca, Kristina (Arthur) Bennett, Daniel Pecora Jr., Dustin Pecora, Stacy (Sam) Ware, Megan Pecora; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pecora was pre-deceased by his siblings, Daniel Pecora Jr., Nellie Cafalone, Frances Pecora and Anthony Pecora.
Funeral services will be held at 8:15 a.m., Thursday, June 20, from the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home, and at 9 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church, Oswego, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Gregory Kreinheder.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Oswego.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
