Write a commentThe First Universalist Society of Central Square is hosting a potluck “picnic-style” luncheon with speaker on Sunday, June 16th.
The featured speaker will be from “Anthony House”, a project of Wellhouse Ministries, Inc. Anthony House is a residential facility currently under development to provide services to the terminally ill in Oswego County.
“Anthony House is our vision of a home for people of Oswego County with terminal illnesses who need 24-hour care in a home that will provide comfort, care and dignity in a loving environment during the final months of their life...Currently, there is no home in Oswego County to help meet the specialized needs and supportive care of someone approaching end of life. As a resource in our community, Anthony House can help meet those needs”. (http://whministries.org)
Anthony House care will be offered regardless of faith and free to the resident. Services are intended to be complementary to medical services that may be provided by other organizations such as Oswego County Hospice. Come and learn about this very much needed facility and service. The church will be supplying hotdogs and attendees are encouraged to bring picnic-style side dishes. The potluck will begin at 1130 a.m. and the presentation will begin at 12 noon. There is no cost or requirement to attend but visitors are welcome to bring a dish to share if they wish.
The First Universalist Society is located in the village of Central Square near the corner of routes 11 and route 49, across from the fire department. Handicapped parking is available on the far side of the building. The First Universalist Society of Central Square is the only Unitarian-Universalist church in Oswego County and welcomes people of all ethnicities, backgrounds, and beliefs, united in the causes of justice, peace and love.
