Everyone is welcome to join Chabad of Oswego for a festive wine and cheese tasting at SafeHavenMuseum and EducationCenter (2 E. 7th St.) at 3:00pm this Sunday, March 16, 2014. The celebration will include a variety of kosher wines, cheeses, Megillah reading as well as a story and arts & crafts program for kids.
Purim commemorates the miraculous salvation of the Jewish people from genocide at the hands of the ancient Persian Empire as recounted in the biblical Book of Esther some 2,500 years ago. Every year since then Jews all over the world commemorate this event with feasting, joy and retelling of the story of Purim.
