The evening of music and fireworks at Mexico Point Park that was postponed due to weather has been rescheduled for August 3, from 4 pm until approximately 10 pm.
This highly anticipated annual event is sponsored by the Town of Mexico and the Friends of Mexico Point Park offering a lineup of live music, family-friendly activities, and a fireworks display presented by Young Explosives. The park is located at 120 Mexico Point Drive, Mexico, NY, admission is free, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
A varied lineup of local musical acts will kick off at 4 pm and continue until the fireworks start at about 9:30 pm. The lineup will include a brass band, pop, rock, and folk artists. Music will be provided by The Manley Boys, Mexico Brass, Brian Taylor, and Caruso and Carpentier. After sunset there will be an intimate yet spectacular fireworks display. The park will offer family-friendly activities including face painting, balloon art, and a library table by the Mexico Public Library.
Food trucks will be available from Garafolos with their sausage sandwiches and more, Barlows with their fried dough etc., and Twisted Treats and Treasures with their ice cream and other treats. Casey’s Cottage, the unique medieval-themed manor house will be open to visitors. The swim beach will be open from 11 am to 7 pm when two lifeguards are on duty. Ample free parking with a free shuttle bus will be provided.
