Write a commentRev. Charles Forbes, 67, of Minetto, died July 25, 2018 at the parsonage.
Born in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Gordon and Margaret (Crawford) Forbes.
He was a 1968 graduate of Massena Central Schools, then attended Hartwick College, received his Associates Degree in mathematics at SUNY Potsdam and his Bachelor’s Degree at R.I.T. in Computational Mathematics.
Following college he worked as a Systems Programmer for Kodak and then worked many years for the Electronic Data Systems working in many states before being called into ministry.
He began his Pastoral Ministry in 2007 at Canton United Methodist Church. In 2009, he came to the Minetto United Methodist Church where he has been the clergy until the present time. He was also the active Chaplin for the Minetto Fire Department.
Chuck loved decorating, gardening, canning and his dogs.
Surviving are two sisters, Judy (David) Mayne, of Waterloo; Carolyn (Tom) Michels, of Aurora, IL; six nieces and nephews, Doug (Stephanie) Mayne of Fayetteville, NY; Kevin (Kelly) Mayne, of Galway, NY; Stacy Michels, of Chicago; Sara (Don) Shinault of Montgomery, IL; Anthony (Abby) Michels, of St. Charles, IL; Kristen Michels of Aurora, IL; many great-nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held 10AM to 11:30 AM Monday, August 6th at the Minetto United Methodist Church. Services will follow the calling hours at the Church, 2433 Co Rt. 8 Minetto.
Donations can be made to the Minetto United Methodist Church, or the Minetto Fire Department.
