Richard Edward Davis, 79, a resident of Hall Road, in Scriba, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Seneca Hill Manor.
Mr. Davis was born in Meridian, the son of the late Norris and Mary (Anklin) Davis.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a sergeant during the Korean War.
He was the co-founder of Davis Bros. Inc., in Scriba, where he worked for 51 years.
He had previously been employed for 10 years with the Nestle Corp., in Fulton.
He was a life member of the Elks Club, the American Legion, the Moose Club, the Scriba VFW and the Hibernians.
Mr. Davis enjoyed snowmobiling and traveling and was an avid sports fan. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Betty Davis, who died in 2010; and his brother, Paul Davis.
He is survived by his children, William Davis, Kathy Davis and Pamela Caraccioli, all of Scriba; his sister, Marlene Taylor of Oswego; his grandchildren, Joshua and Olivia Davis and Matthew and Jack Caraccioli; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His children would like to acknowledge the loving care that their father received from all the staff at Seneca Hill Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, from St. Mary's Church.
Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
