Richard F. Henderson (R. Frederick), 77, resident of Oswego passed away July 15 at University Hospital in Syracuse surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Fred and Rose (Skorupski) Henderson. He was educated and graduated local schools. He was U.S Army veteran serving with the 82 Airborne Paratroopers. Dick was an Ironworker employed by Local 60 of Syracuse, and worked various job throughout Oswego County. He was a member of the Oswego Elk’s Lodge 271. He was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed his teams the Cleveland Browns and the New York Mets. He was also a NASCAR fan and a follower of Dale Earnhardt.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Surviving are his wife Marian Snyder Henderson; children Beth (Larry) Gigon; Lynne Bunce; Lori Henderson; Bob (Meg) Henderson; step daughter Amy VanBuren; and step son James VanBuren, all of Oswego; and his grandchildren Lindsay, Vanessa, Ryan, Brandon, Jennifer, Dick, Eric, Cody, Olivia, and Ava, great-grandchildren Maddy, Lyla, Everett and many cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Karen L. Henderson, brother Bob Henderson and sister Irene Henderson.
Services will be held 9:00 a.m. Monday July 20, at St Mary’s Church, 103 W 7th St, Oswego.
Calling hours will be held 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W Albany St. Oswego.
