Write a commentRobert R. “Baboo” Castaldo, 80, a resident of Oswego, died April 11, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Mary (Mallette) Castaldo.
He worked as a Union Carpenter for Local 277 for 49 years.
He was a Paratrooper for the Army. He enjoyed photography, and avid skydiver, played in a pool league, avid golfer and outdoorsman, he enjoyed woodworking and building bird houses. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Gale (Pryor) Castaldo; two daughters Bobbi Jo (John) Snyder of Baldwinsville; Kimberly Fralick, of Mexico, NY; a son Robert G. Castaldo of Oswego; a brother Ronald Castaldo of Oswego; two sisters, Elizabeth (David) Kelly of Oswego; Anna (Robert) Cortese of Ontario, Canada; a sister-in-law Louise Castaldo; his beloved grandchildren, Emerson Snyder, Ethan Snyder, Robert A. Castaldo, Katelyn M. Castaldo, Paige Fralick and Brooke Fralick; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, James Castaldo Jr. (2013).
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held 10AM Wednesday, April 17th at Christ the Good Shepard, St. Joseph’s Church, 240 W. First Street. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 3-6PM Tuesday, April 16th at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
