Write a comment“Santa's helpers” have been hard at work at St. Luke Health Services, making sure there will be plenty of carefully wrapped gifts for each resident to be found under the Christmas tree this year.
Many volunteers spent several hours wrapping over 800 presents that will be gifted to residents at one of the many family Christmas parties taking place during the coming week.
"Without the support of our community volunteers, completing the monumental undertaking of gift wrapping all these presents would be impossible," said Nicole Greenier, St. Luke volunteer coordinator. "This is really what the season is all about – a wonderful group of people who take time out of their own busy schedules who volunteer to lend a helping hand and make the holiday season special for our residents."
Many of the gifts for residents are courtesy of Exelon employees through the Nine Mile Point employee “Giving Tree” Program; Exelon employees selected “wishes” that were hung on trees at various Nine Mile Point facilities, and set about purchasing gifts for St. Luke residents.
