The holiday festivities are coming to Oswego early to spread some fun and cheer.
iHeart Oswego's Second Annual Children's Christmas Parade is set for Saturday, Nov. 29 at 5 p.m. The event will start by gathering on the intersection of WestSeneca and West Second Street and end on West Second and Oneida Street. The first 200 children will receive a free glowstick!
The parade will be led by a float with a model of the lighthouse. Santa will be present at City Hall.
Children, accompanied by a parent or guardian, should be wearing glow sticks and other glowing items to honor Light Up Oswego, an all-day event taking place on the same day.
Light Up Oswego will offer various activities starting at noon, including a shopping expo, business storefront lighting and downtown vendors.
The day of festivities will end with the annual tree lighting ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. The ceremony will be hosted by Mayor Tom Gillen and Santa will be at City Hall immediately following the ceremony.
Families can register to participate in the parade by picking up a registration form at the iHeartOswego.com office at 29 W. Seneca St., or email events@iheartoswego.com. People can also find out more information and show their support for the event on the Children's Parade official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ChildrensChristmasParade.
