The Oswego County Salvation Army Corps offers the Food Sense program of the Central New York Food Bank.
Any residents of the Oswego area who would like to stretch their food dollars may order September Food Sense packages until Noon on Friday, September 12.
All Oswego-area residents may use the program. There are no income limitations and no restrictions on the number of items one may buy. Payment in cash or EBT card must accompany the order.

Twenty-Eight Oswego families ordered Food Sense packages in August.
The September package includes meatballs, Cheese Ravioli, Crinkle Sliced Carrots, Chicken Tenderloin, Pasta Sauce, Mandarin Oranges, Flounder Fillet, Spaghetti, Italian Sausage, Strawberries, and two fresh produce items.
September specials at various prices include Pork Tenderloin, Seafood Boil Meal, Chicken Wings, Sliced American Cheese, Onion Rings, and Lasagna Roll-ups.
Specials may be ordered with or without ordering the monthly package.
Orders may be placed in person at the Salvation Army Worship and Service Center, 73 West Second Street, Oswego, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., through Friday, September 12 at Noon.
Orders placed by mail must be received by Friday, September 12, with the envelope marked “Food Sense” on the front. Payment by cash, check, or EBT card is accepted. Checks must be payable to The Salvation Army. Mail to The Salvation Army, PO Box 146, Oswego, NY 13126. Orders cannot be taken by phone.
Food Sense orders may be placed online at FoodSense.FoodBankCNY.Org/Index, but payment must be made by credit card. Complete information about the current month’s offerings is available at this site.
Food orders must be picked up on Thursday, September 25, between 10:30 and 12:30 p.m., upon presentation of the order form.
The Oswego County Salvation Army Corps provides fresh-cooked meals Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., in both Fulton and Oswego, groceries from its food pantry open Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and many other services to individuals and families in need throughout Oswego County.
In July, the Corps provided 852 soup kitchen meals in Oswego and 470 in Fulton. It provided 61 Oswego households with groceries for 546 meals and 78 Fulton households with groceries for 669 meals.
