Write a commentShirley L. “Shirlee” Healy, 86, of Oswego, died September 25, 2018, at home.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Helen (Barbeau) Root.
She worked as an operator for N.Y. Telephone for 35 years. She also worked as the Oswego Hospital for 10 years. Shirlee loved everything about living in Oswego, especially walking at Breitbeck Park. She was the self-proclaimed “Mayor of Breitbeck”.
Surviving are her sons, James “Mic” Healy of Florida; Daniel (Beth) Healy of Kentucky; Timothy Healy of Florida; grandchildren Clare and Drew Healy; also her devoted cat, Molly and many friends.
She was predeceased in death by James “Dinny” Healy.
Calling hours will be held Friday, 10:00AM to 12:00PM at St. Peter’s Church, with a Catholic Funeral Mass to follow. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
